Andy Axsom’s job is to help students at the UNT Health Science Center. But the roles reversed when a TCOM medical student helped Axsom complete the final stages of a journey from weighing 385 in 2010 to being fit enough to run the Dallas Marathon on Sunday, Dec. 9.

The Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) Class of 2012 recently matched into residency or internship positions. According to the National Resident Matching Program, more than 95 percent of U.S. medical school seniors—the highest rate in 30 years—have matched to residency positions.
