Around Campus, In the Community

think green 3The latest: Every Monday in April, you can get one free drink with purchase of an entree in the Four Star café when you bring your reusable Sustainability water bottle.

Earn the bottle by taking our Sustainability Pledge.

Nearly 1,000 people already have! It’s part of UNTHSC’s celebration of Earth Day.

The Earth Day “Think Green” Fair will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, in the MET.

You could win a Kindle e-reader and other great prizes.

Activities for students, staff and faculty will include:

  • Zero-Waste free food event
  • Office spring cleaning – swap discards for things you can use
  • Booths and displays
  • Prizes donated by “green” businesses
  • Upcycled photo gallery and contest (deadline extended to April 5). First prize is a Kindle e-reader.

One of the “Think Green” events will be open to the community as well as faculty, staff and students: Free electronics recycling. Bring that old TV, cellphone or tangle of discarded cords from home, and invite friends and family to do so as well. One lucky participant will win a Kindle eReader for donating!
