UNT Health Science Center announces new executive leadership
Fri, Dec 21, 2012
Jack Wall, Chairman of the UNT System Board of Regents, sent this message to faculty, staff and students on Dec. 21:
I am writing on behalf of the UNT System Board of Regents to announce an important change in executive leadership of the UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth. Earlier today, by unanimous vote, the Board moved to terminate the employment contract of Dr. Scott Ransom as President of the UNTHSC.
We are pleased to announce that Michael Williams, DO, MD, [pictured] has accepted our offer to serve in an interim capacity as President of the UNT Health Science Center. Dr. Williams offers impressive clinical and administrative experience, and his previous service on the UNT System Board will support an efficient transition to these new responsibilities.
The entire UNT System is more committed to Fort Worth than ever before. We have been good stewards of the original Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, which has grown into the UNT Health Science Center and its five colleges. The Board of Regents, Chancellor and UNT System remain focused on the growth and development of the Health Science Center, and to its key role in educating clinicians and enhancing the delivery of health care in the greater Fort Worth community and across our region. We appreciate your continued support of the UNTHSC, particularly during this change in leadership.
Jack Wall
Chairman
UNT System Board of Regents

Welcome, Dr Williams!
