Congratulations to our students and employees for saving lives by giving blood – and winning awards for it!

These two honors were presented recently to the Health Science Center by Carter BloodCare: 

• 4 Star Blood Drive Sponsor — Presented in honor of outstanding commitment and hosting four or more drives in 2011. (We had six!) 
• Silver Premiere Partner Award 2011 – Presented to organizations whose total donations for 2011 put them in the top 6 to 10 percent of participating organizations. Pretty impressive when you realize Carter BloodCare’s area covers 58 counties. UNTHSC donated 165 units.

Let’s go for those honors again this year! You can help by participating in the next blood drive. That’s Thursday, Nov. 8, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can donate at either the UNT Health business office, 1412 May St., Fort Worth; or the Everett building Atrium.
