Digital scanner helps Lewis Library transform manuscripts for online use

An ultra-modern scanner is giving new life to historic documents housed at the UNT Health Science Center’s Gibson D. Lewis Health Science Library. In about six months, items once tucked away in book stacks and storage areas will be readily available to anyone online at the UNTHSC Scholarly Repository.

Journal publishes work demonstrating benefits of OMT during pregnancy

Research into the back pain and related symptoms experienced by pregnant women has been published by a major medical journal, the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The journal article was also included on the Modern Medicine Web site, which vets and reviews scientific articles for health care professionals.

A student cricket game capped off International Week at the Health Science Center on Friday, March 12. The game – played at Will Rogers Field on a sunny, yet blustery afternoon – attracted students, staff and faculty.

North Texas Health Forum tackles infant mortality

More babies die each year in Tarrant County than in almost any county in the U.S., possibly as a result of women’s health throughout their lives. Public health experts will gather at the third annual North Texas Health Forum to discuss these critical data and create a plan to reduce infant mortality in Tarrant County.

Update on SACS visit

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) has completed its on-site review of the UNT Health Science Center. In its verbal report-out, the SACS team said they found our Compliance Certification Report acceptable in all areas with no recommendations. They found our Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) focused on Higher Order Thinking acceptable as well.
