On Saturday, Oct. 24, the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Class of 2012 hosted the DO Dash 5k at the UNT Health Science Center. The event raised money for UNTHSC’s Cardiovascular Research Institute (CRI).
Valleau Wilkie Jr., executive vice president of the Sid W. Richardson Foundation, was honored with the UNT Health Science Center’s Vision Award at the institution’s annual gala on Oct. 10.
On Tuesday, Oct. 20, KDFW Fox 4 News interviewed Jerry Simecka, PhD, chair of Molecular Biology and Immunology, for a story about the availability of the H1N1 vaccine. In the story Blair Chappell, physician recruiter for UNT Health, also shared her concerns as a new mother about the vaccine.
Lt. Johannah Valentine, MD; flight surgeon for the U.S. Navy’s flight demonstration squadron, the Blue Angels; will address the UNT Health Science Center on Friday, Oct. 23, at 8 am in Library 110. She will relate her experience as a flight surgeon for the Marines and for some of our country’s top aviators.
For the fourth time in five years, the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) has been named a top medical school for Hispanic students by Hispanic Business magazine. TCOM ranked 11th out of the 156 MD- and DO-granting schools in the U.S. TCOM is the highest ranking osteopathic medical school on the list.
On Oct. 10, the UNT Health Science Center celebrated 10 years of the School of Public Health with the To Your Health Annual Fundraising Gala at the Renaissance Worthington Hotel in downtown Fort Worth.
On Oct. 9, the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine’s (TCOM) Class of 2012 Chupacabras defeated the Class of 2013 Ligers 42 – 35 in the 2009 TCOM powder puff game. The annual event raised money for the Class of 2013.
